Fostering

Help! Be a foster! Save a life!

Do you wish you can save them all but know you just can’t?  We have the solution!  Volunteer to be a foster parent at the Humane Society of Lebanon County and help get our animals off to a great start before going up for adoption!

Sometimes puppies and kittens come into the shelter before they’re old enough to go up for adoption. Sometimes animals are undersocialized and could just use some time living in a home and adjusting to a home-life routine.  And sometimes animals suffer from treatable medical issues that will better heal outside of the shelter setting.  This is where you come in!

We’ll be with you every step of the way.  We’ll answer any questions or concerns you have during the foster period.  We’ll schedule check-ups with our foster coordinator or a veterinarian.  And we ensure you have access to us 24 hours a day should an emergency arise.

The Humane Society’s foster program provides you with everything needed to care for your new charge, including food, litter, bedding, crates, medications, and anything else your foster animal may need while in your care.  All we require you to provide is time, love, and patience.

If you’re interested in fostering, please complete our foster application. Or download and print an application which you can email to our Foster Coordinator at info@lebanonhumane.org or mail to:  Foster Coordinator, Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N Ramona Rd, Myerstown PA 17067.
