Beautiful, independent Miley! Available!

Introducing beautiful, independent Miley! This gorgeous spayed female is 6 years old! Miley has been at our shelter over a year! Gorgeous Miley would thrive best in a quiet home with lots of freedom and room to roam. Quite simply a few special cozy spots to call her very own are all she is asking for! A home with adult humans would be ideal for this girl! Staff feels she might do okay with a feline sibling as long as they understand her love of being an independent girl! Purrhaps a feline sibling who is just as mature and independent as purrty Miley might be a good match. Please consider adding this beauty to your heart and home! She truly deserves her second chance!

Our star Hannah on ABC 27 Good Day PA!

Great news! Adoptable dog Hannah recently appeared on Good Day PA on ABC 27!

Click here to see our super star Hannah in her TV debut! Great job girl! You rocked it!

We are oh so hoping this feature will help Miss Hannah connect with her one and only furrever family! She soo deserves to be loved and cherished!

A little introduction to our volunteer favorite, Hannah! Hannah is our super star! She recently appeared on Good Day PA, a morning show on local tv station, ABC 27. She loved riding in the car to the tv studio. She also enjoyed meeting the package delivery man and the mail lady outside the tv studio in Harrisburg! Affectionately called Hannah Banana this gal enjoys going for walks and exploring outside! A simple 30 minute walk in the morning and a 30 minute walk in the evening sound great to her! Hannah is treat motivated and looves back scratches and belly rubs. Hannah likes to be near her humans, but not necessarily on her humans. She is very loyal and sweet once she gets to know you. Hannah was previously adopted from our shelter but sadly had to be returned when her owners moved and could not take her with them. Hannah does AOK with human kiddos but would need to be the only canine in your family! Hannah is a three year old spayed female mixed breed! In the Spring of 2019 Hannah will be here at our shelter for one year! Please consider opening your heart and home to this lovely girl! She oh so deserves to be loved and cherished by her very own family!

Help! Be a foster! Save a life!

Do you wish you can save them all but know you just can’t?  We have the solution!  Volunteer to be a foster parent at the Humane Society of Lebanon County and help get our animals off to a great start before going up for adoption!

Sometimes puppies and kittens come into the shelter before they’re old enough to go up for adoption. Sometimes animals are undersocialized and could just use some time living in a home and adjusting to a home-life routine.  And sometimes animals suffer from treatable medical issues that will better heal outside of the shelter setting.  This is where you come in!

We’ll be with you every step of the way.  We’ll answer any questions or concerns you have during the foster period.  We’ll schedule check-ups with our foster coordinator or a veterinarian.  And we ensure you have access to us 24 hours a day should an emergency arise.

The Humane Society’s foster program provides you with everything needed to care for your new charge, including food, litter, bedding, crates, medications, and anything else your foster animal may need while in your care.  All we require you to provide is time, love, and patience.

If you’re interested in fostering, please fill out our foster application and submit it to Foster Coordinator at info@lebanonhumane.org or by mailing it to: Foster Coordinator, Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N Ramona Rd, Myerstown PA 17067.

TNR Clinic – June 3

A TNR clinic for stray and feral cats will be held on Saturday,  June 3!  Drop off will be between 9:00 am and 9:30 am.  Pick up will be between 2 pm and 4 pm (or earlier if staff calls once the cat is awake and ready to go home).

These TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) clinics will be low-cost spay and neuter clinics for feral and stray cats. The shelter takes appointments for TNR clinics via phone at (717) 628-1369, or by email at info@lebanonhumane.org. There will be 25 spots available per clinic, with spots being reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. No more than 3 spots will be reserved for a single individual per clinic. Cats must be brought to the shelter either in a trap or in a carrier.

Cost for the clinics is $30 per cat, which includes the spay and neuter surgery and a rabies vaccine. All cats will be ear-tipped for identification purposes. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Additional services offered include a FVRCP vaccine for $10, a FeLV/FIV test for $20, and flea preventative and deworming treatment for $10.

Lebanon City Residents:

To report an area with a large population of unowned stray and feral cats, within the Lebanon City limits, please email: TNR@LebanonHumane.org. The HSLC and the City of Lebanon  have begun a partnership to address these areas of concern through TNR and re-homing services.

Recommended Low-Cost Clinics

While the shelter cannot at this time offer vaccinations or spay/neuter surgeries for the public other than what is offered in clinics, there are a number of low-cost veterinary services which the shelter does recommend to the surrounding community. Contact information for these clinics is listed below.
