Juniper Village Rocks!

A recent blog from the residents and staff of Juniper Village:

Our trip to the Humane Society was The Cat’s Meow! The residents of Juniper Village were amazed to see dozen of cats all vying for their attention as we walked into the cat room at the Humane Society of Lebanon County. There were cats everywhere! There was even a cat colony, where about a dozen cats all lived together in a room full of toys, beds and cat lofts, complete with a big picture window. Several residents went into a special room where they could hold a cat or play with their toys with them. Three other residents went to another area to help by folding clean laundry to be used by the dogs and cats. We were especially excited to be able to donate $100 worth of pet food and toys that we bought the previous week during a trip to PetSmart. We also donated many towels and blankets to the Humane Society. It was a very special day for everyone who went along, even though it was very difficult not to come back with a cat!

If you have a small group interested in visiting our shelter or coordinating a donation drive, please reach out to Sharon Riegel, Communications Associate at sriegel@lebanonhumane.org

TNR Clinic – June 3

A TNR clinic for stray and feral cats will be held on Saturday,  June 3!  Drop off will be between 9:00 am and 9:30 am.  Pick up will be between 2 pm and 4 pm (or earlier if staff calls once the cat is awake and ready to go home).

These TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) clinics will be low-cost spay and neuter clinics for feral and stray cats. The shelter takes appointments for TNR clinics via phone at (717) 628-1369, or by email at info@lebanonhumane.org. There will be 25 spots available per clinic, with spots being reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. No more than 3 spots will be reserved for a single individual per clinic. Cats must be brought to the shelter either in a trap or in a carrier.

Cost for the clinics is $30 per cat, which includes the spay and neuter surgery and a rabies vaccine. All cats will be ear-tipped for identification purposes. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Additional services offered include a FVRCP vaccine for $10, a FeLV/FIV test for $20, and flea preventative and deworming treatment for $10.

Lebanon City Residents:

To report an area with a large population of unowned stray and feral cats, within the Lebanon City limits, please email: TNR@LebanonHumane.org. The HSLC and the City of Lebanon  have begun a partnership to address these areas of concern through TNR and re-homing services.

Recommended Low-Cost Clinics

While the shelter cannot at this time offer vaccinations or spay/neuter surgeries for the public other than what is offered in clinics, there are a number of low-cost veterinary services which the shelter does recommend to the surrounding community.
