Sandy! Canine Fashion Expert! Gold Medal Player!

Canine Fashion Expert and Gold Medal Player! Sandy! Available! Stop in, grab a tennis ball and fall in love with this gorgeous gal in our play yard!

Meet Sandy! A 5 year old spayed female fawn and white wiggly butt  American Staffordshire Terrier! Miss Sandy arrived in the middle of November at our shelter as a stray so her back story is a bit unclear (we wish she could talk and tell us her story)! This pretty princess would thrive best in a home without those silly critters we call cats. She is super toy motivated: she loves toys, especially tennis balls! Sandy is also people motivated: she loves people, almost but not quite, as much as she loves toys! Staff recommends a calm canine sibling, older calm human siblings and a firm person in her life who will keep her focused on the task at hand! Sandy does not show well in her kennel! After all she is so excited to get out to meet you and yes play, play play! Sandy shows best outside in our play yard! That is where she shines! Bring a tennis ball and meet our SANDY! You will be her new BFF! Visit  our website for details on our adoption process or stop in our shelter anytime during open business hours!

Homes Needed! Barn, Outdoor, Warehouse, Workshop, Factory

The Humane Society of Lebanon County is currently looking for barn/outdoor homes (warehouse, workshop, factory) for feral felines that cannot be adopted. A feral cat is a cat that has had little to no contact with humans. These cats cannot be socialized or adopted out, but deserve homes too! The adoption fee is free to those who qualify. HSLC will spay/neuter, vaccinate and provide a 1-year rabies vaccine. Accommodations required are an outdoor enclosed or inside/safe area plus fresh litter, water and food daily.

Together we can make a difference!

Help! Be a foster! Save a life!

Do you wish you can save them all but know you just can’t?  We have the solution!  Volunteer to be a foster parent at the Humane Society of Lebanon County and help get our animals off to a great start before going up for adoption!

Sometimes puppies and kittens come into the shelter before they’re old enough to go up for adoption. Sometimes animals are undersocialized and could just use some time living in a home and adjusting to a home-life routine.  And sometimes animals suffer from treatable medical issues that will better heal outside of the shelter setting.  This is where you come in!

We’ll be with you every step of the way.  We’ll answer any questions or concerns you have during the foster period.  We’ll schedule check-ups with our foster coordinator or a veterinarian.  And we ensure you have access to us 24 hours a day should an emergency arise.

The Humane Society’s foster program provides you with everything needed to care for your new charge, including food, litter, bedding, crates, medications, and anything else your foster animal may need while in your care.  All we require you to provide is time, love, and patience.

If you’re interested in fostering, please fill out our foster application and submit it to our Interim Shelter Operations Manager, Kim Siar at ksiar@lebanonhumane.org or by mailing it to:  Interim Shelter Operations Manager, Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N Ramona Rd, Myerstown PA 17067.

TNR Clinic – June 3

A TNR clinic for stray and feral cats will be held on Saturday,  June 3!  Drop off will be between 9:00 am and 9:30 am.  Pick up will be between 2 pm and 4 pm (or earlier if staff calls once the cat is awake and ready to go home).

These TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) clinics will be low-cost spay and neuter clinics for feral and stray cats. The shelter takes appointments for TNR clinics via phone at (717) 628-1369, or by email at info@lebanonhumane.org. There will be 25 spots available per clinic, with spots being reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. No more than 3 spots will be reserved for a single individual per clinic. Cats must be brought to the shelter either in a trap or in a carrier.

Cost for the clinics is $30 per cat, which includes the spay and neuter surgery and a rabies vaccine. All cats will be ear-tipped for identification purposes. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Additional services offered include a FVRCP vaccine for $10, a FeLV/FIV test for $20, and flea preventative and deworming treatment for $10.

Lebanon City Residents:

To report an area with a large population of unowned stray and feral cats, within the Lebanon City limits, please email: TNR@LebanonHumane.org. The HSLC and the City of Lebanon  have begun a partnership to address these areas of concern through TNR and re-homing services.

Recommended Low-Cost Clinics

While the shelter cannot at this time offer vaccinations or spay/neuter surgeries for the public other than what is offered in clinics, there are a number of low-cost veterinary services which the shelter does recommend to the surrounding community.
