04/03/20 UPDATE for Current Shelter Volunteers:
The Humane Society of Lebanon County is temporarily suspending all volunteer operations at this time. We are instructing all volunteers, including those performing court-ordered community service, to avoid the shelter until further notice. This hard decision is part of a larger program to protect our front-line animal care workers, guided by state and national recommendations as well as advice from our insurance provider. We are continually evaluating the current healthcare crisis and working to develop new policies to encompass the safest new standards for the shelter and all persons involved in daily operations. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.

Our volunteers are essential to our organization, and we could not perform our mission without them. Volunteers are active in every level of our organization, from animal care and client service to data entry and maintenance. Are you ready for a rewarding experience helping people and animals in your community? Click here to download a volunteer application now!
Before you join us as a volunteer, we request that you first attend a brief but informative orientation at the Ramona Road adoption center. This orientation is generally an hour long, and you’ll learn all about the HSLC and the different roles performed by our volunteers. After that, we’ll work together to find a volunteer position that fits your interests. Check out our “Events” page for upcoming volunteer orientation dates! (Stay tuned! Orientations will be scheduled soon!)
