Duke
Duke

Duke is a beautiful brindle babe who has been searching for his forever family since3/19/2019. Duke came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. Duke was not being treated fairly by a small child in the home which left him broken and down. Since being at the shelter, Duke has shown that he can be a very sweet and loving boy once he gets to know you. With his past, Duke can be shy at first when meeting new people. Treat motivated, Duke loves to please and show off his obedience. Duke enjoys participating in play groups at the shelter as well as going on lunch runs to McDonalds. Duke's forever family would consist of no small children, cats or other animals. This home will also include no children coming to visit the home due to his negative past experiences. As far as doggy siblings, Duke would prefer a more submissive playmate who will allow him to be the head honcho. Dog siblings will also be dependent on a meet and greet with an approved adopter. His forever family would ideally be home more than away and social butterflies need not apply! Duke's family will also need a fenced in yard to allow him to run and play as he pleases. Potential adopters will need to understand that they will partake in multiple meet and greets with Duke to allow him to become more comfortable and trusting. Staff recommends waiting at least 2 months at minimum until trying introductions with other adults, which would need to occur outside of the home. A breed experienced owner, with knowledge of slow intros and an understanding that Duke may never be a social butterfly will be preferred. If interested in adopting Duke, please visit www.lebanonhumane.org for all the details on our current adoption process and application.
