Beautiful, independent Miley! Available!

Click here to see a video feature of adoptable Miley! She is currently residing in one of our Cat Colony Rooms in our Cat Adoption Room!

Introducing beautiful, independent Miley! This gorgeous spayed female is 6 years old! Miley has been at our shelter over a year! Gorgeous Miley would thrive best in a quiet home with lots of freedom and room to roam. Quite simply a few special cozy spots to call her very own are all she is asking for! A home with adult humans would be ideal for this girl! Staff feels she might do okay with a feline sibling as long as they understand her love of being an independent girl! Purrhaps a feline sibling who is just as mature and independent as purrty Miley might be a good match (no silly kitten antics for this girl). Here at our shelter staff has found that Miley is not so fond of those silly, wiggly jiggly canine creatures. Please consider adding this feline beauty to your heart and home! She truly deserves her second chance!

Paws for the Cause – Eagle Scout Project

A few weeks ago, John came to the Humane Society of Lebanon County with an idea for his Eagle Scout Project. He wanted to collect 2,000 pounds of food and supplies for the animals in the shelter. We were thrilled! He made adorable donation bins. He placed the bins at various locations around the county. The community stepped up and donated and donated!

John recently brought all the bins and donations to the shelter.  We were floored! What a haul! John gave us his final total:  2,784 pounds of food and donations! Just speechless!

Thank you John and all his supporters! What a marvelous young man! What an awesome project! We are so humbled and honored!

Help! Be a foster! Save a life!

Do you wish you can save them all but know you just can’t?  We have the solution!  Volunteer to be a foster parent at the Humane Society of Lebanon County and help get our animals off to a great start before going up for adoption!

Sometimes puppies and kittens come into the shelter before they’re old enough to go up for adoption. Sometimes animals are undersocialized and could just use some time living in a home and adjusting to a home-life routine.  And sometimes animals suffer from treatable medical issues that will better heal outside of the shelter setting.  This is where you come in!

We’ll be with you every step of the way.  We’ll answer any questions or concerns you have during the foster period.  We’ll schedule check-ups with our foster coordinator or a veterinarian.  And we ensure you have access to us 24 hours a day should an emergency arise.

The Humane Society’s foster program provides you with everything needed to care for your new charge, including food, litter, bedding, crates, medications, and anything else your foster animal may need while in your care.  All we require you to provide is time, love, and patience.

If you’re interested in fostering, please fill out our foster application and submit it to Foster Coordinator at or by mailing it to: Foster Coordinator, Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N Ramona Rd, Myerstown PA 17067.
