Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at beautiful Tulpehocken Manor near Myerstown! There will be beer and wine tasting, food and music by local musicians Mockingbird! Plus raffle baskets and much more!

5 Ticket Bundle Special – $160 (4 Regular, 1 Designated Driver)

Adults only please. Dog friendly event. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times.

Tails on Trails Fundraising Walk

Sunday, October 7, 2018! Rain or Shine!
5th Annual Tails on Trails Fundraising Walk!

Registration: 12 Noon to 12:45 pm, Walk begins 1 pm

Walk begins and ends at Lebanon Fairgrounds
(80 Rocherty Road, Lebanon, PA)

Awesome raffle baskets available (additional fee)
All ages encouraged to participate, this walk is rated easy
Dogs are welcome on leashes (no flexi leashes please)
1.5 mile or 3.1 mile paths available
Snacks and drinks provided for walkers
Dog treats and water provided for dogs

Registration donation is $25 per walker and includes a T-shirt, snacks, drinks for you and treats for your canine friend

Prizes awarded to top 3 walkers with the most pledge money collected!

Bring your best friend for a walk and a fun day on the rail trail!

We hope for a beautiful day, but weather is unpredictable! Please prepare for weather conditions, this is a rain or shine event!

Shelter seeking Animal Care Technicians

Job Title:  Animal Care Technicians (Dogs, Cats and Small Mammals)
Reports to: Shelter Operations Manager
Salary: Dependent upon experience

Requirements:
– Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
– Must be able to work outside in temperatures from below freezing to over 90 degrees.
– Must be able to work on your feet without a break for a minimum  of 4 hours.
– Be able to handle all animals (large and small) with different dispositions without fear.
–  Have a working knowledge of various medication and drugs used in the basic care of animals, dosages and how to dispense medications.
– Should understand and be able to show basic procedures on how to restrain an animal.

Duties and responsibilities:
Daily feeding and cleaning of all animal care areas in the shelter.
– Observe each animal in your assigned area to determine if there are any signs of stress, illness, injury, aggression, abnormal behavior etc. and report all concerns to the Shelter Operations Manager or Staff Veterinarian in a timely manner.
– Assist with intake exams, including vaccinating, deworming and any other tests as needed.
– Medicate shelter animals as requested.
– Maintain shelter and animal areas by sweeping, mopping, washing laundry, washing dishes and litter pans, stocking all areas with supplies and any other duties as assigned needed to maintain and keep shelter organized and clean.

BACK TO SCHOOL ADOPTION SPECIAL

NEED A STUDY BUDDY!?!?!?  On September 12th & 13th The Humane Society of Lebanon County will be holding a BACK TO SCHOOL ADOPTION SPECIAL!  All dog and cat adoption fees will be 50% off.    Keep your eye on Facebook for “The Teacher’s Pets.”

Our adoption fees include the animal’s first vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, and spay/neuter surgery. Cat adoption also includes a FeLV/FIV test and cardboard carrier. You may choose to microchip your new pet for additional $15 fee at the time of adoption.

 

HSLC SEEKING RELIEF VETERINARIAN

Relief Veterinarian Wanted

The Humane Society of Lebanon (HSLC) is seeking a relief veterinarian to join its team of dedicated animal welfare professionals. This is a part-time position of 2 to 6 shifts per month. We can accommodate your schedule and offer flexibility in choice of surgery days and hours. Primary responsibilities include spaying and neutering shelter animals and performing intake and wellness exams. Experience in high quality/high volume spay/neuter, including pediatrics, a plus. The HSLC offers a small but functional modern surgery suite with separate prep and recovery areas and experienced veterinary technicians on staff to assist as needed. Help us help them!

The Humane Society of Lebanon County would like to extend a paw to the people and animals of central Texas who have been affected by the recent flooding.   Therefore we are collecting supplies for the Austin Animal Center and Austin Pets Alive!   They are specifically in need of     large dog leashes,  rawhides,  puzzle toys,  peanut butter, meaty treats, towels and paper towels.   Donations will be collected here at the shelter located at 150 N. Ramona Rd, Myerstown, PA 17067.

Annual Humane Society Thrift Shop Spring Fling

Join us on Saturday March 28th 9-3pm for the Annual Humane Society Thrift Shop Spring Fling!   We will be selling baked goods, homemade Easter Eggs and Opera Fudge.  We will be raffling off great gift baskets and having a Jelly Bean Counting Contest.  Best of all, we are having pet pictures with the EASTER BUNNY.   A 5X7 picture will be $10.00.  The thrift shop is located at 129 Cumberland St. Lebanon, PA 17042.     We hope to see you there!
