Down Doggie Yoga Becomes Weekly!

Our Down Doggie Yoga is making a return, and it’s weekly! Jordan Leigh Fancovic, our doggy photographer, is going to be hosting classes every Saturday for newcomers and experienced yogers. The classes will be held from 10AM til 11AM in the Humane Society’s back grass lot. If the weather is not permitting, it will be held inside the Humane Society in our spacious new middle room. This event is BYOM – Bring Your Own Mat. The class fee will be $10 and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society.

We really hope to see you!

INDIE

“We adopted Dexter (tan dog, previously unnamed) in July ’12 from the HS of LC.  We knew, or I should say my husband knew, right away that he was the one.  We took him home and immediately had numerous challenges getting him acclimated into our family which already consisted of two cats.  After an in-home visit with a trainer, a three week doggy bootcamp, and continuous structure and reinforcement, we have a dog who is adored by most people, who don’t judge a book by it’s cover.  Dexter was the proverbial diamond in the rough and it was rough going for a while; but he is the perfect dog for us and is greatly loved.  He’s even managed to charm one of the cats and is determined to work his magic on the other one.

We adopted Indie (b&w dog), previously Jasmine, in May ’14.  We had to pick the right dog because Dexter has some leash aggression (ok, he’s perfect for us, but still a work in progress).  Indie wiggled into his heart from the moment he saw her.  She has been perfect; playful, but not threatening.  From day one they have been pretty much inseparable.  Indie is just so sweet and lovable.  We took her in to the store when we went to pick up supplies on her adoption day and she was like a rock star;  everyone wanted to meet her and she handled it all with ease.  She’s also managed to charm our one cat in no time.  Indie wants nothing more than to snuggle, whether it’s with us or Dexter; she just wants her cuddle time.  Oh, and food!  This girl is a chow hound and is not discriminating about what she eats.

Together Dexter and Indie offer us, and each other, a great deal of enjoyment.  We couldn’t be happier!  Thank you for keeping our pups safe until they made it to their forever home.”
