OUR POLICIES FOR ADOPTION
Welcome to our Online Dog Adoptions Center. At any given time we may have up to 45 dogs and 55 cats available for adoption to a good and loving home. As you can probably guess the expense of feeding and housing these pets can become costly. To help offset the costs of sheltering the dogs and cats the Humane Society of Lebanon County charges a one time fee of $50.00 per cat and $75.00 per dog to be paid upon the adoption.
Our adult animals may already be spayed or neutered. Any puppy or kitten that is not old enough to be altered when it is adopted will require a refundable deposit of $30.00. This policy is in effect to ensure our compliance with Pennsylvania State Law that decrees all animals adopted from a Humane Society must be spayed or neutered. Failure to comply with this policy or the policy set forth in the adoption application will result in forfeiture of all fees paid in addition to seizure of the animal in question.
In addition to all other fees, any adopter that lives in the county of Lebanon is required to purchase a Lebanon County Dog License at the time of adoption. This fee is dependant upon whether or not the animal being licensed is altered or not. Altered animals cost $6.50 to license and unaltered animals cost $8.50 to license.
To adopt a dog from the Humane Society of Lebanon County you will need a valid driver’s license or state id. You will need to fill out one, two or three forms depending on whether or not the animal you wish to adopt is altered, and whether or not you live in the county of Lebanon. The three forms are The Adoption Application, The Spay Neuter Agreement and the Dog License Application. Your Adoption Application must be pre-approved. We encourage people to speed up the process by printing out our form and faxing it to the shelter, at 717-866-2782.
We accept Cash, Visa, and MasterCard.
